In the same year i.e. 1979, Marlow, Gore, Clarke and another friend named Paul Redmond formed a music band and called it “The French Look.” The month of march saw the formation of a band named “composition of sound” and included band members named “Clarke, Gore and Fletcher.” Not long after the formation of the respective music band Clarke and Fletcher switched to synthesizers and working o several odd jobs in order for their musical equipment purchases. In 1980 Dave Gahan joined them and they gave a performance at a local jam session, where they sang a rendition of David Bowie's popular song "Heroes". This was when Depeche Mode was born.
