Eddie Izzard’s full name is Edward John "Eddie" Izzard. He opened his eyes into this world on the 7th of February in the year 1962. He has had the honor of winning the prestigious Emmy Award-that had been given to him owing to his talent. By profession he is not only a stand-up comedian but also a dramatic actor. Other than that he has also gained much popularity owing to his transvestitism. He is on tours mostly. Other than that he is also a renowned television and a stage actor who has also successfully tried his hands at acting in films. He is much involved in charity work.

Izzard opened his eyes in Aden that is part of Yemen. He was born as the youngest son to parents Dorothy and Harold Izzard who were a nurse and an accountant by profession respectively. When he had been only one year old Izzard's family had relocated to Bangor that is situated in the Northern Ireland. This was Eddie’s home for four years until he had been five years old. Tragically his mother had been diagnosed with cancer and died in the month of March when he had been only six years old.

As far as his education is concerned he had been a student at St Bede's Preparatory School and at the Eastbourne College. But it had not been until he had been a student at the University of Sheffield that he had begun to explore the field of standup comedy and give performances.

Edward John "Eddie" Izzard born 7 February 1962 is an Emmy Award-winning British stand-up comedian and dramatic actor. Eddie Izzard stand-up work brought him British Comedy Awards in 1993 and 1996. In 2005, Izzard provided the voiceover again, in his unique 'rambling' style for the British government's series of television advertisements promoting recycling.
