Martina McBride was born on July 29 1966 in Sharon Kansas in the United States of America. Her parents Daryl and Jeanne Schiff owned a farm. She was the third of their four children. Their other children were older brother Steve, older sister Gina and a younger brother Martin. Her first flint with music began when she performed with her family band called the Schiffters, this group played at local dances and other places in Kansas. She played the keyboard instrument in the band and after high school left the band to join another band consisting of different family friends. Afterwards she started playing with other rock bands consisting of various different people. She was raised and grew up in a small town.
Regarding her first album launch, RCA was looking for a new and talented female solo artist that could sing and had a unique voice. The McBrides in a big purple envelope posted information and some songs that Martina had sung and delivered it to RCA records. The company liked the voice and asked Martina to sing in a live performance in front of them so they could judge her talents and abilities. That she did and being greatly impressed the company gave her a record deal. This lead to her first album The Time Has Come and the album was released on the McBrides fourth wedding anniversary. The album was released in 1992. Although some of her singles reached a decent spot in the rankings but none got her much fame and popularity that was until her breakthrough in the year 1993 The Way that I am. One of its singles titled My Baby Loves Me reached the number two spot in the country music charts. This was a start of her successful career as an artist.
Furthermore she is also a song writer and has had success in this field as well. She has recorded ten albums and two of these albums have reached gold standard and the seven more are stated to being platinum or multi-platinum. She has sold over sixteen million albums worldwide and has won many musical awards. She is also called the Celine Dion of country music.
Regarding her personal life she married her husband John who was a studio engineer. She got married on May 15 1988. She has three daughters who go with her on her tours. She currently lives in Nashville with her family.
Furthermore Martina also contributes to various charities. She is the spokeswoman of National Network to End Domestic Violence and also National Domestic Violence Hotline. In 2004 she also helped in fulfilling a dying childs wish and also received a Minnie Pearl Humanitarian Award in 2003. Not only has she been successful but she has utilized some of that success for the greater good of humanity.
