Randall Stuart "Randy" Newman born on Nov., 28th, the year 1943 is a singer as well as songwriter, arranger, composer, and pianist who is famous for his mordant and usually satirical based pop songs and for his several film scores. Newman is well popular for his practice of writing lyrics from the perspective of a character far removed from Newman's own biography. i.e., the year 1972 song called "Sail Away" is written as a slave trader's sales pitch to attract slaves, while the storyteller of "Political Science" is a United States. Nationalist, who complains of global ingratitude toward America and proposes a brutally ironic final solution, one of his biggest hits, is "Short People" which was written from the perspective of "a lunatic" who hates short people. Since the time of 1980s, Newman has worked frequently as a film composer.
His film scores are Ragtime, Awakenings, The Natural, Leatherheads, James and the Giant Peach, Meet the Parents, Sea biscuit and ‘The Princess and the Frog’. He has scored 6 Disney-Pixar films namely Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., Cars and most freshly the Toy Story 3, and is set to return for the Cars 2. He has achieved an Academy Award, 3 Emmys, 4 Grammy Awards, and the Governor's Award from the Recording Academy.
