Steely Dan is a popular music band that is of American origin and makes music belonging to the jazz-rock genre. Mostly this music band centers on its main members that are Walter Becker and the much talented Donald Fagen. The aforementioned music band had attained both critical and especially commercial acclaim during the late seventies time period. To date they have managed to release a total of seven music albums which are all a mixture of jazz, rock and funk elements. They have been dubbbed as being "the perfect musical antiheroes for the Seventies" by the popular music magazine named the Rolling Stone. The duo is much popular for their perfectionism when they are recording in the recording studio. In fact there was this pone time when Becker and Fagen had employed the usage of almost forty different studio musicians and almost a dozen engineers for the recording of the tracks that had resulted in their popular album, released in the eighties and titled Gaucho. Though it had taken a year to make it included only seven songs. They toured extensively for two years in 1972.

Steely Dan is an American jazz-rock band centered on core members Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. The band reached a peak of popularity in the late 1970s. Their ability to tastefully utilize the best of session�s players has been a major hallmark as well, and special credit should be given to producer Gary Katz. Steely Dan has been more of a conceptual framework for inventive music-making than a typical rock band.
