The Detroit Tigers are a Major Baseball team based in Detroit, Michigan. In the year 1894 the club was founded by in the Detroit and is one of the American League's eight charter franchises. Four World Series championships had been won by the Detroit Tigers in the year 1935, 1945, 1968 and 1984 and have 10 times won the American League pennant. Since the year 2000, the team has played at Comerica Park.
In the ear 1896 the Tigers constructed Bennett Park at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Trumbull Avenue and began playing there. The team moved into Navin Field in the year 1912, which was built on the same location. In the year 1936, it was almost completely rebuilt and was renamed as Briggs Stadium. In the year 196, It was renamed Tiger Stadium and the Tigers played there until the year 2000 before moving to their current park, Comerica Park. 1887 was the best year for Wolverines. In it they won the National League pennant and an exhibition world series, defeating the champion of American Association St. Louis Browns, 10 games to 5. All the fifteen scheduled games of the series were played, as the clubs toured ten different cities.
