Bye Bye Birdie is a stage musical. A book written by Michael Stewart, its lyrics was given by Lee Adams, and music composed by Charles Strouse.

Initially it was named as Let's Go Steady, the irony on American society set in 1958. The story was intensified by the emergence of popular singer Elvis Presley and his recruitment into the army in 1958. The rock star character's name, "Conrad Birdie," is word play on the name of Conway Twitty. Conway Twitty also famous as a country music celebrity and he was also Prestley’s rock n roll rivals of 1950’s.

The Broadway production of bye bye birdie lead to Tony Awards as it was a big success. A sequel in 1963 film and a 1995 television production was made afterwards. The show also became a popular choice for high school and college productions.

The story is about a famous rock star whose career seems to be in threat when he joins the army. He is asked by the song writer Albert and his girlfriend to perform his last song "One Last Kiss" and to kiss one lucky girl from his fan club "last kiss" on The Ed Sullivan Show before going into the Army. In short the whole drama is full of excitement and melodious full of passion, jealousy in love and a good entertainment specially for the teenagers
