The Minnesota Timberwolves are a Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States based professional basketball team. Timberwolves organization is also a member of the National Basketball Association (NBA). NBA basketball returned to the Twin Cities in the year 1989 for the first time since the Minneapolis Lakers departed for Los Angeles in the year of 1960as there was an American Basketball Association franchise, the Minnesota Muskies, in the session of 1967-68, when the NBA granted one of its four new expansion teams including the Orlando Magic, Charlotte Hornets, and the Miami Heat to original owners Marv Wolfenson and Harvey Ratner, who begin to play for the 198990 season of NBA. In the "Name that team" contest, they received the name "Timberwolves". Timberwolves has their largest population in Minnesota i-e in the lower 48 states (at about 1200).
Minnesota Timberwolves made their debut on November 3, in 1989 losing to the Seattle SuperSonics on the road 10694. In the same season five days later the team would make their home debut at the Metrodome again losing to the Chicago Bulls with the score of 9684. And exactly two nights later the Wolves got their first win, beating the Philadelphia 76ers at home 125118 on November 10.
