The play Wizard of Oz is basically a 1902 musical play that has been based on the wonderful wizard of oz musiacl show that has been authored by the L. Frank Baum. It was originally published for the very first time in the year 1900. After that it made its debut premiere in the city of Chicago and was after a while relocated to the Broadway almost three years later in the year, 1903. It ran there for almost three hundred performances starting from the month of January in the year 1903 to the month of December in the following year that was 1904. It was followed by several traveling tours that included the original cast. As for the the wizard of oz cast this show included the likes of the actors such as Anna Laughlin, who played the role of Dorothy Gale, and Fred Stone in the role of the Scarecrow.
David C. Montgomery was hired for the role of the Tin Woodman (who is also called as Niccolo Chopper during the play). Amongst other prominent cast is Arthur Hill (who has no relation to the Canadian film star) who plays the role of the Cowardly Lion. In this version, his role is reduced to that of a bit part. There was a particular element from the show – which featured a lot of snowfall being caused by the Good Witch that finally results in the killing of the poppies which had been the reason behind the sleep of Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion. This particular element fro the show was at a later time used in the famous movie of the same name that had been released in the year 1939.
