NFL Information
The National Football League is the highest level of professional American Football in the United States. It was founded in 1920. It was formed by twelve teams. In 1920 its name was American Professional Football Association then in 1922, its name was changed to National Football League. The League is divided into two conferences, one the American Football Conference and the other is National Football Conference. These two conferences are further divided into four parts; each conference has four teams so the total number of teams is 16. NLF produces programming from various networks. The television rights to the NLF are the most lucrative and expensive sports broadcasting commodity in the United States. Each NLF team has its own radio network.
NFL has also a contract with Sirius Satellite Radio which provides news, analysis, commentary and games related to NFL. It broadcast comprehensive coverage on its own channel, Sirius NFL Radio. It offers a pay service for NFL fans outside United States to watch all regular season live online. This is not available for the fans within United States. In 2010 the rules changed so the players don’t become “Unrestricted Free Agents” until they have at least six years of experience. They will be “Restricted Free Agents” if they have three- five years experience. NFL is the most attended domestic sports League in the world. The regular season is seventeen-week schedule during which each team play 16 games and has one Bye week. This game is held on pre-selected site which usually a city that hosts an NFL team.
