James William known as Jimmy Buffett was born in 1946. He is a songwriter, author, businessman, singer and movie producer. He is also a best-selling writer. He has written three no#1 best sellers. 1st Tales form Margaretville, 2nd Where is Joe Merchant and the third is A pirate looks as fifty. He is involved in two restaurant chains one is “Cheeseburger in paradise” and the other is “Margaretville”. He began his career in late 1960’s and recorded his first album “Folk Rock Down to Earth” in 1970. He has been involved in many charity efforts. He founded “Save the Manatee club” with former Florida governor in 1981. Before 2003 the songs played at every Jimmy Buffett show were known as Big 8. But after sometime the list of songs played in every show went from 8 to 10. Gulf and Western is a term used to describe the music of Jimmy Buffett. He is famous because of his concerts. His concert mostly consists of 26 to 30 songs. In 2006 he wrote a song for film “Hoot” and also acted in this film. In 2010 put a free concert on the beach in Gulf shores, Alabama. From his album sales, restaurants and tours he earns as estimated $100 million a year.
What can one say about Jimmy Buffett also known as James Williams. He has done it all ranging from writer, movie producer to a musician. He has achieved it all. He was born on December 26 1946 in Mississippi. As a young boy he spent most of his time in Alabama attending grade school and sometimes went to church. He after graduating from high school started playing the guitar in university. This was his calling and he knew it. He started his musical career in Nashville in 1960 and mainly sung country songs. Then his main album Down To Earth was released in the 1970s.
Most of Jimmys music was inspired from the various places he visited and the local area music of that place played a huge part in his songs. He sung country, pop and folk music beautifully. During the 1980s Jimmy became known as a person that did more concerts then releasing albums. This was a fact as he made far more money touring then he ever did with his albums. His bands name was the Coral Reefer Band and they performed with a lot of vigor and energy. Later he released numerous albums but his books and writings were more famous among people and gave him the title of bestseller.
In 1985 he decided to step into business and opened a restaurant named Margaritaville.This was the first of many to follow.In 2000 he and his band played for the President of the United States Bill Clinton.July 13 2004 a very great day and year for Buffett as he released his album License To Chill and on its first day it sold numerous copies.The most that Jimmys music album had ever sold.It broke all records when his album gained momentum and topped the U.S charts.All the thirty albums that he has released till 2007 he has 8 gold albums and many platinum and multi platinum albums.
He has a huge fan following and his fans are more lovingly known a s parrotheads.Also his two restaurants Margaritaville and CheeseBUrger in Paradise.These two restaurants have done really well and have contributed to helping him achieve the status of a successful businessman. He has achieved success in everything that he has done.People still remember and adore him to date and his songs are still remebered by millions.Jimmy is a very good role model to follow as he never risked his education because of music.He has got a bachelors degree in history from the University of Southern Mississippi.So one can say education is the most important factor first.One should follow Jimmys example.
On a more personal note regarding Jimmys life. He has a very successful marriage with wife Jane and has conceived two daughters with her named Savannah Jane and Sarah Delaney.He also adopted a son named Cameron Marley.Jimmy has achieved great success but never let it get to his head.He keeps his life private and does not like to get too much in the eye of the media.But in the end he is a great writer,businessman and musician and has definitely made a place for himself in history.
