Willie Nelson was born on April 30 1933 in Texas. His parents were Myrtle and Ira D.Nelson. His father owned a pool hall and was a technician. Furthermore his grandparents when he was six gave him music lessons. At a young age of seven Willie started writing his own original songs and two years later joined a band. He was very much interested in playing the guitar although his sister had expertise in playing the piano.
When Willie attended high school he was part o a band named Bohemian Fiddlers. During his high school years he had garnered some experience playing in different areas as a Dj. He also worked for various radio stations as a disc jockey. After graduating and completing his education in the year 1951 he went to the airforce but came back after some time due to various back problems that he was suffering from. In 1956 he started his stint with music by releasing a song anmed Lumberjack, the song did good business but did not help in establishing him as a good singer. During this year he performed at different clubs and started playing music as well.
Willies career took a U turn when he moved to AUstin in 1965. Over there people were really tuned into hippie and country music. When Willie released his own unique sound with a mix of jazz and country music, his popularity reached heights which he had never reached before. Also another good thing that happened during this year is that Willie became more health conscious and started exercising and taking care of his own well being. In the year 1970 due to the success and the money he had made Willie bought property near Lake Travis and built a studio there. This is a lavish studio with its own golf course, tennis courts and wide swimming pools which have been influenced by the olympic standards.
Willie has also appeared in numerous hit movies and sometimes makes guest appearances in movies such as Miami Vice and many more. Most currently he did a role in Dukes of Hazard:The Beginning. His acting skills have been appreciated by his fans all around. He still tours and plays music in front of huge crowds and audiences.
On a more personal note Willie has been married four times and has eight children. Currently in the year 2008 he released an album in January titled Moment of Forever which includes new and classic Willie Nelson songs. He has also been active politically in many situations. Willie is known as a true American and a great country musician and an actor. His contributions to music as well as different other fields in life are renowned. Even though he was caught with cannabis and arrested in 2006, his fans still love him and remember his beautiful songs and brilliant performances in his many hit movies.
