What is stomp? Well “Stomp” is a non-traditional dance troupe that basically originated in Brighton that is located in UK.This particular dance troop uses its body and several ordinary objects for the creation of a physical theatre performance. The term stomp is also used for reference to a distinct sub-genre of the physical theatre where the rhythmic movement of the body is incorporated with several ordinary objects as a means of the production of thumping and movement. It resembles a tribal dance much.
This dance troupe named stomp was developed from the London Records band named “The Yes/No People” and who were much recognized for their "Mr. Johnson" and "Some Things Are True" compilation. After they became “Stomp”, they have made appearances in several music compositions and starred in numerous television commercials. The popular channel “HBO” has also served as the producer for the DVD named “Stomp Out Loud”, which features all the “stomp” group members. It shows them producing lots of thumping with the aid of usual household items…also in a junk yard. This group was initially shaped jointly by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas. It played in New York, Londons West End, and on numerous North American and European tours in the present year. Its expanded production, which was named “Stomp out loud”, and was later also released on DVD, made its debut at Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in the previous year, i.e. 2007.

Some of the countries that are prominent are Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and South Africa to name a few. Israel, Palestine, Brazil and Argentina also make it to this list. The creators of this dance troupe have also directed the IMAX film that is named “Pulse: A Stomp Odyssey”. This particular movie is a celebration of the international rhythms that promises to take its audience on a journey to the points inclusive of India, Africa, Spain and the US to name a few.
