Boxerwood and the American Shakespeare Center declare a joint Holiday Season fundraiser. For one night only, on the evening of the Monday, Dec., 13th at 7:30 pm at the Holly’s Folly in Lexington, the American Shakespeare Center will show The Santaland Diaries.
The production is an extraordinary funny one-man play from the National Public Radio’s well-loved humorist named David Sedaris adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello about the author’s experiences as an unemployed actor as well as writer taking a job as an ‘elf’ at Macy’s department store in the New York City.
This pleasantly tart tale takes a ironic look at how the holiday season brings out the best – and the worst in us all. The ASC-favorite Rick Blunt clutches into the elf knickers and will modify, literally and figuratively into the elf Crumpet. The show id recommended for mature audience only.
Just after the performance Rick Blunt will host a short “Talkback with the Actor” when members of the audience can ask questions about his practice and creative processes he employed in creating the role of Crumpet. Following the “Talkback,” the Crumpet will blend with guests to see some of the finest miniature art in the country.
