Heard of White Christmas? It is a jukebox musical film that was released in the mid fifties. The movie stars actors Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye in lead roles and features several songs of Irving Berlin. Amongst these songs the most famous ones are the “White Christmas”. The remaining cast includes Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen in important roles whereas the director of this movie is Michael Curtiz. The supporting cast for the movie was Mary Wickes, Anne Whitfield and Tony Butala to name a few. Some other prominent names that made up the supporting cast were Bea Allen and Johnny Grant. The Academy Award winner actor Dean Jagger had worn a toupee in the movie. 
The making of this film took place between the months of September and November, in the year 1953. Initially this movie was supposed to be filmed in the new Vista Vision process. Later its Technicolor cinematography made sure that the movie remained for long in the minds and hearts of the audience and has a long shelf life not only on TV, but also on video and DVD. It was released in the year 1954, and was the highest grossing film for that particular year. Originally this film was supposed to reunite Crosby and Fred Astaire. This was supposed to be done for their third Irving Berlin extravaganza of singing and dancing. It is being stated third because; the first two were the Holiday Inn (back in year 1942) and Blue Skies (in the year 1946).
Astaire declined after going through the script and Donald O'Connor was selected as his replacement. But unfortunately he fell quite ill and ended up declining too. Hence O'Connor was then replaced by Danny Kaye. The role of the choreographer for this particular movie was fulfilled by Bob Fosse.but his name was not included in the credits of the movie. Apart from that there was Vera-Ellen whose singing was dubbed by Trudy Stevens. Only in the song "Sisters," did neither of them lend their singing voice and instead the honors were done by Rosemary Clooney who ended up singing both the parts.
The title song for this movie was the same song that had earlier been used in the movie “Holiday Inn” and managed to bag the Academy Award for the Best Original Song of that year. Later the song named “Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep” had been included in this film as well and managed an Academy Award nomination for the Best Original Song. Rosemary Clooney was also not allowed for recording her voice for the soundtrack of this album, as it was already being released by a record company by the name “Decca”. Peggy Lee was her replacement for the soundtrack of its album.
The finale of the movie shows Bob and Betty declaring their love for each other, and also the declaration of love between Phil and Judy and everybody raising a glass and toasting that may all their Christmases be “white”.
