The Brooks Atkinson Theatre is a Broadway theater situated at the 256 West 47th Street in Manhattan. Designed by the architect Herbert J. Krapp, it was made as the Mansfield Theatre by the Chanin brothers in the year 1926. After the year 1933, the theatre fell into relative neglect till the year 1945, when Michael Myerberg purchased it and leased it to CBS for television productions. Called as CBS Studio 59, the theater played host to the long-running game show What's My Line? In the year 1960, it was renamed after the priory New York Times theater censor, Brooks Atkinson, and returned to lawful use.
In the year 2000, the inner side was refurbished with restored decorative finishes by EverGreene Architectural Arts, and now the theatre is again illuminated by the initial chandelier that had been removed over forty years ago. It has 1,069 seats and is among the Netherlander Organization's nine Broadway houses. The renewal of Grease freshly played at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. The show featured Max Crumm as Danny Zuko and the Laura Osnes as Sandy Dumbrowski. who were the winners of the year 2006-2007 reality television show the ‘Grease: You're the One that I Want’ which selected a new Danny and Sandy for the revival through a gigantic nationwide casting call.
